Morocco is a country that receives thousands of visitors a year. Even though it's an Islamic country in most of the cities people are very nice, welcoming and open to tourism. Even though it's a beautiful country and safe to explore you should take precautions, just as when you visit other places. For example, protect your valuable things when you're in crowded areas and don't walk in small and dark alleys very late at night, especially if you don't know the place.
The dress code in Morocco is not mandatory, it's just for you to be more comfortable and show a little respect to another culture. In the major cities such as Marrakech and Fez people are more open and you can wear shorts and sleeveless shirts. There's no need for women to cover the head but we like to recommend both, men and women to cover the legs.
Even though there are no obligatory vaccines to enter Morocco, you could get the Typhoid and Hepatitis shots if that makes you feel safer. Malaria is not a major concern in our country, but if you're visiting certain rural areas you should take some minor precautions against insects. In Marrakech Adventures we take your health very seriously and the least thing we want is you to get sick during your trip. For this reason we only take you to super-clean and good quality places where the food is safe. Even though we take every possible measure to avoid any issue, there are things beyond our control and stomach upsets occur from time to time. To avoid this, make sure you drink only bottled water and take some antidiarrheal medications with you, just in case!
Morocco's weather is usually hot and dry, but July and August are the hottest months of the year. The good news is that even though these months are super-hot in the desert and some other cities like Marrakech and Fez we have other amazing places in our Atlas Mountains where the summer is much more tolerable. Now winters can get very cold in the mountains, but the weather can be pleasant in other places. Just consider that during winter the temperatures between day and night can vary greatly so you'll need to pack for both, hot and cold weather.
In most riads you'll find that most of the staff speaks many languages, English included. Although you'll be surprised of how multi-lingual people are in Morocco, there's no guarantee you'll find people who speak English everywhere. Arabic, Berber and French are the most spoken languages in Morocco. But you'll find plenty of people who speak Spanish and English as well. Marrakech Adventures has Moroccan guides that speak your language as well as Arabic and Berber, so you'll be communicated and accompanied at all times!
The guides are experienced and enthusiastic Berbers from the south East of Morocco (Merzouga region). They love their country and culture and are eager to share with you their knowledge and expertise. Most of them speak multiple languages and all of them have all the special permissions and requirements to work in tourism. They are trustworthy and qualified to drive for you in all Moroccan territory and we guarantee your safety during whole trip them.
In Marrakech Adventures your comfort and safety come first, so we only drive spacious and comfortable vehicles with air conditioning. All our Minivans and 4X4 cars were purchased in the last four years.
